photo: Drew CzaiaThe high winds Monday may be to blame for the failure of the temporary levee around the town of Nutwood. Residents there had built a temporary levee as protection from the floodwater that was anticipated if the Nutwood Levee was breached. The high winds caused waves to crash into the barrier, and a portion of the town was flooded.

Four homes in all now have water in them. Some of those residents are now staying in trailers. There is still a way in and out of town, as one road remains open that connects to Fieldon.
