Roger Shawn Wallace, 59, of Buckley, Illinois, formerly of Jerseyville, died at 7:12 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2018 at the home of his son and daughter in-law in Jerseyville after a year and a half battle with brain cancer.
He was born in Alton on July 30, 1959, he was the son of Douglas and Marilyn (Darr) Wallace.
Roger attended both Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville and Melvin-Sibley High School in Melvin, Illinois, and was a mechanic and heavy equipment operator by trade.
Surviving are his wife, Kandi (Bristle) Wallace of Buckley; five children and their spouses, Brandy Wallace of Alton, Shawn and Brooke Wallace of Jerseyville, Christopher and Trista Wallace of Jerseyville, and twin daughters, Madison Wallace and Jenna Wallace, both of Buckley; Nine Grandchildren; three brothers and sisters in-law, Douglas Wallace of Hamburg, Larry and Diane Wallace of Jerseyville, Tracy and Roberta Wallace of Jerseyville; three sisters and a brother in-law, Laura and Jeffrey Kadell of Jerseyville, Sherri Finney, and her companion, Randy Richardson of Patoka, and Toni Woolsey of Grafton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Rikayla Wallace on Feb. 15, 2000; a sister, Sara Jane Wallace; a brother, Michael Wallace; and a brother in-law, Gary Woolsey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in the Noble Cemetery in Otterville.
