Ruth Ann Dooley, 80, of Bethalto, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at 1:24 pm, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
She was born on August 18, 1938, in Casey, IL, the daughter of Kenneth N. and Margaret L. (Hosman) Comer. She married Dean Dooley on September 21, 1956 in Peoria, IL.
Ruth Ann retired from the Teamsters Local 525 office in Alton after twenty plus years. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Casey, IL. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dean; her children and their spouses, Dane (Stephany) Dooley of Plainview, IL, Mark (Traci) Dooley of Holiday Shores, and Denise (Rob Miller) Ahlmeyer of Bethalto; a sister, Bevery (Bob) Beabout of Denver, CO; a sister-in-law, Sue Comer of Casey, IL; six grandchildren, Gabe (Rachel) Swift, Josh (Melody) Swift, Zach (fiancé Lauren Miller) Swift, Nathan Dooley, Erin Dooley, and Jennifer (Mike) Whiteaker. She had a special bond with great-grandchildren Jack and Nora, whom she watched several days a week since birth; other great-grandchildren are James, Steven, Ella, Isaac, Iris, and Silas.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Comer.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Terry McKinzie will officiate.
