Kenneth “Kenny” A. Brooks, age 73, of Staunton, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Eden Retirement Center in Glen Carbon.
He was born September 4, 1945, in Alton, the son of Elmer and Dollie (Witt) Brooks.
Kenny had worked as a delivery driver for many years for Wood River Furniture Mart. His interests included hunting, archery, firearms, and knives. Kenny enjoyed attending auctions. He had been involved in drag racing during his younger years. Kenny had a passion about classic cars.
He is survived by a daughter, Tracy Brooks, and her significant other, John Sides, of Wood River; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kim and Phillip Challandes of Bethalto, and Elmira Jean Boger of Warsaw, MO; a brother and his wife, Richard and Rosemary Brooks of Godfrey; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Shandi Lynn; a brother, Ronald Brooks; and a sister, Bonita Crane.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 3:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
