Betty Jane Steinhoff, 89, died peacefully on Monday March 18, 2019 at Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon, MO.
She was born on February 18, 1930 in West Alton, MO, the daughter of Henry and Julia (Chappuis) Puent.
She married Donald Steinhoff on September 1, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Alton where they were members. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2012.
Betty loved to volunteer at Immaculate Conception's church functions and was an avid bowler for more than 40 years. Her favorite hobbies was quilting and fishing with Don.
She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Catherine A. Eddington of St. Charles, MO, and Bonnie and Russell Ripperda of Sparta, IL; eight grandchildren, Brad, Sarah, Lisa, Jon, Kim, Jenny, Mike and Christy; fifteen great-grandchildren, two sisters, Geraldine Schrader and Barbara Hawley; two brothers, Joseph Puent and Robert Puent; a brother-in-law, Bernie Spahr, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son David Steinhoff and two sisters, Edna Lohmeyer and Dorothy Spahr.
Visitation will be from 9 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11 am Saturday March 23, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church in West Alton.
Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in West Alton.
Memorials may be made to Masses, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
