Judith Ann Rigdon, 73, formerly of Roxana and Wood River, Illinois passed away at 3:35 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Life Care Center of Florissant in Missouri. She was born and raised in South Roxana, a daughter of the late Dale and Lucille (Christy) Hayes. She had worked for the Roxana School District with many years of dedicated service in the school cafeteria. She cherished her family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with them. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberely and Charles Herrmann Jr. of Valrico, Florida and Kathy and Michael Kufskie of Maryville; her loving friend of 40 years, James “Richard” Parker of Wood River; three grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy Aaron and Danielle Herrmann, Ashley Nicole and Cory Herrmann and Ava Marie Kufskie; two great grandchildren, Jasmine and Benjamin Herrmann; a sister, Martha Bates of Indiana; a brother, Dale “Ted” Hayes Jr. of South Roxana; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Shelba McEuen and Katherine Whitaker and three brothers, Jack Hayes, Robert “Butch” Hayes and Ricky Hayes.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Robert Johnson as celebrant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Illinois.
