Barbara Brainerd

Barbara Brainerd, 76, passed away on November 7, 2019, at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehab. Barbara was born on October 16, 1943 in Jerseyville to Merle & Adaline (Jennings) Pointer. She married David Brainerd on November 19, 1961 in Jerseyville. She was a seamstress at a local department store, owner of Brainerd’s Village Inn in Grafton, and was a homemaker. Barbara is survived by her daughter: Christina Wallace of Jerseyville; her grandchildren: Erin (Mike) Ray, Sarah (Colin) Mortiz, Morgan Wallace (Brittany Custer); her great-grandchildren: Haley & Nolan Belt and Reese & Eli Ray, her siblings: Beverly Tallant and Fred (Jennifer) Pointer. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter: Carol Ridder. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Alexander & Gubser Funeral Home. A prayer service will be on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Alexander & Gubser Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family in care of the funeral home.
