Shawn Christopher Lynch, age 59, of Wood River, passed away suddenly Monday, February 15, 2021.
He was born June 27, 1961, in Alton, the son of Charles W. and Jeanne M (Konzen) Lynch. He was a graduate of Wood River High School in 1979. He then furthered his education in 1988 – 1989 with an Associates's Degree in Diesel Mechanics Technology. He then attended Lewis and Clark Community College from 1992 – 1995 studying Industrial Electronics Technology.
Shawn was so full of love and he gave his all to everyone. He was fun loving and adventurous with so many interests. Shawn served many years with the Coast Guard Auxilliary. Shawn was a Certified Scuba Diver and traveled to so many exotic locations to dive around the world. Shawn was a also a Certified Sky Diver.He was a Radio Operator and a Licensed Insurance Agent. He was currently employed with HWI Environmental Tech Inc. and loved by his co-workers. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
Shawn is survived by his sister and her husband, Mary and Ken Buttry, a brother and his wife, Patrick and Luda Lynch; ten nieces and nephews and their spouses; and twelve great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jeanne Lynch; and a brother, Joseph Lynch.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2021, from 11:30 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Pastor Joe Dunnagan officiating.
