Betty M. Hilda Dresch, age 92 of Highland, IL, died Friday, March 26, 2021, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
She was born on Friday, August 24, 1928, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Edmund and Hilda (nee Springer) Hediger, Sr.
On Saturday, October 20, 1945, she married John W. Dresch at E & R Church, Grantfork, IL, who passed away on Saturday, December 21, 1968.
She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ-Highland; VFW Auxiliary Post 5694-Highland; International Ladies Garment Workers, Council #404.
Mrs. Dresch was born at Highland, IL. Following her marriage she and her husband moved to Grantfork, IL, where they operated Johnny's Place; subsequently they built a new building and named it John & Betty's. After her husband's death in 1968, Betty moved to Highland. She worked for Marine Garment Factory, Marine and retired from Charles Todd Uniform in 1985. After retirement she worked at L&M Tavern, Hi-Top Bowl and Highland Speedway; and babysat in her home for many years. Betty loved to cook. She enjoyed being with people; loved her gardens raising roses and impatiens flowers. She helped at the VFW, making potato salad.

(Significant Other-Nick Deiters) Diesen, Germantown, IL; Cole J. (Significant Other-Bry Crouch) Goestenkors, Highland, IL; Kira Oberlender, Highland, IL; Siblings - Shirley E. Rutz, Highland, IL; Elmer L. Hediger, Edwardsville, IL.
She was preceded in death by: Father - Edmund Louis Hediger, Sr. - Died 8/1/1972; Mother - Hilda Ella E. Hediger (nee Springer) - Died 3/18/1993; Husband - John W. Dresch - Died 12/21/1968; Siblings - Lauretta Henschen - Died 10/02/2004; Brother - Edmund H. Hediger, Jr. - Died 2/27/2008; Brother and Sister In-Laws - Carl Rutz; Marvin Henschen; Norma Hediger; Ruth Hediger; Beverly Hediger; James E. (Lorraine) Dresch; Elaine A. (Leto W. "Tony") Reinacher; Richard (Mildred) Dresch; Parents In-Law - Phillip & Rose Dresch.
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Eric Quinney-Burnard, Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, officiating.
Interment will be at Grantfork United Church of Christ Cemetery in Grantfork, IL.
