
Nancy Lynn Johnson, age 78 of Edwardsville, IL, born January 16, 1943, in Glen Carbon, IL, passed away at 10: 17 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Nancy was a 1961 graduate of Edwardsville High School. She retired from Ralston Purina as a pricing coordinator. She was a lifelong member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Glen Carbon, and an active member of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) for over 27 years. She loved her dogs, Molly, Lucy, Ellie, and Gracie. Nancy was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes (nee Johnson) Foster.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis A. Johnson, whom she married on March 29, 1969; three children: Marlene (Terry) Gueldener of Moro, IL, David Johnson of Alton, IL, and Michael Johnson of Edwardsville, IL; five grandchildren: Timothy (Brittany) Gueldener, Adam Gueldener, Ryan Gueldener, William Johnson, and Bryant Johnson; two great-grandchildren: Tanner and Harper; two brothers: Ronald (Joan) Foster and Bill (Linda Sue) Foster, all of Glen Carbon, IL; and a sister, Linda Lee (Max) Helfer of Glen Carbon, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are required to be worn.
A private funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 with Bishop Anthony Clavier and Father Scott Hoogerhyde co-officiating. Burial will be in Glen Carbon City Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL.
Memorials may be made in Nancy’s honor to Saint Thomas Episcopal Church and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
