He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Nelson; his son Mark Nelson; his parents, Ronald Nelson and Mary Nelson; and his parents-in-law, Victor and Lois Earnest.
He is survived by : his son Craig Nelson (Judith) of O'Fallon, IL; his grandsons, Ryan and Ethan Nelson; his brother Lloyd Nelson (Sharon) of St. Louis, MO; his sister-in-law Carolyn Earnest (Bob) of Newton, IL; and his nieces and nephews, Pam Ramsey (Merik), Deborah Riddle (James), Diane Howard (Craig), David Nelson (Maureen) and Brad Nelson (Joanne). He is also survived by great nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 31st 2021 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Troy United Methodist Church (407 Edwardsville Rd, Troy, IL 62294). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 31st 2021 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Troy United Methodist Church or Mark Alan Nelson Cancer Research Fund, Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation.
