Mrs. Lee Corsa, 96, died peacefully late in the evening of January 7, 2022, at her senior living residence in Valley Park, MO.
Born: Leopoldine Maria Immaculata von Westermayer on July 13, 1925, to Karl and Magdalena von Westermayer, in Vienna, Austria (Europe). Mrs. Corsa was raised by her parents in the beliefs and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
At the age of 21, she married Dean Corsa, JR. (age 24) of White Hall, IL, on September 28, 1946, in Vienna, Austria. Emigrating from Austria to the U.S. in 1947, Mrs. Corsa studied diligently and became a legalized citizen of the United States in 1955 - an accomplishment of which she was extremely proud!! Mr. and Mrs. Dean Corsa resided in the Alton/East Alton/Wood River, Illinois areas, where they raised their five children - all of whom graduated from Roxana High School, and subsequently from colleges throughout the U.S.
Mrs. Lee Corsa daily was also principally involved in the raising of many a raccoon, deer, and fox ... via a "full-meal-deal", prepared by her, and "served up" on her back patio.
Mrs. Corsa is preceded in death by her husband - Dean Corsa, JR.; her son - Dean Corsa, III; her parents; and, all of her siblings in Vienna.
Mrs. Lee Corsa is survived by four of her five children: Deana Corsa (Don Humphrey) of Prescott Valley, Arizona; Dennis (Patricia) Corsa of Alton, IL; J.Stuart Corsa of Rockford, IL; Hazel (Mark) Jensen of Manchester, MO. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Corsa's interests have included volunteer work for civic engagements, regular jury duty, and often as a polling place precinct judge.
She spent countless hours working with her husband on his (their) "labor of love" - an expansive model train and European motif table / scenery, with huge "Alton" influence. (FYI: The train, in its entirety, may be viewed at Iron Spike Model Railroad Museum, Washington, MO.)
Mrs. Corsa was a member of the local Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, including participation as a past officer.
Funeral/burial proceedings will be January 20, 2022 - to be a private ceremony in central Illinois, with only family and personal guests of the family in attendance.
