Frances E. Griffin, 87, of Bethalto, IL passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 4:36 pm at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 31, 1934, in Uptonville, TN the daughter of Marion Uriah and Mary (Joyner) Wilson. She married Melvin Wesley Griffin in Pocahontas, AR. He preceded her in passing.
Frances was an accountant for many years at Cintar Bank and Trust Company. She was an accepting and compassionate person towards everyone and was very open to change. She enjoyed reading, doing cross-stitch, and going to auctions and flea markets.
She is survived by her children, James “Jim” W. Griffin (Becky) of Lake Wales, FL, William “Mike” Griffin (Susie) of Largo, FL, Susan Brooks (Rob) of Rosewood Heights, IL, and Cindy Cauley (Mark) of Bethalto, IL; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; and two brothers.
Private Services will be held at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
