Verna Mae Klug, 89, passed away at 1:15 am, Saturday, May 14, 2022, at her residence.
Born February 1, 1933, in Granite City, she was the daughter of Elbert Cochran and Inez (Cotner) Englar.
She was a co-owner and drapery maker for Custom Drapery for 50 years before retiring.
On August 6, 1950, in Granite City, she married James "Jim" Klug. He died on February 8, 2014.
Surviving are two sons, Jim (Janice) Klug of Roodhouse, Randy (Marsha) Klug of Alton; three daughters, Diane (Jim) Bailey of Creve Coeur, MO, Judy (Dennis) Maupin, and Donna (Mike) Wendle all of Alton; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her loving dog, "Nikki".
Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service at noon, Wednesday, May 18 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
