Virginia Mae Murphy, 91, passed away November 29, 2023 at her residence.
Born May 9, 19332 in East Alton, she was the daughter of Harold and Catherine (Held) Fisher.
She had worked in the dietary department for Christian Hospital Northeast for over 20 years before retiring.
On September 6, 1952 in Arkansas, she married Marvin Richard Murphy. He died in 1975.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky (Diane) Murphy of Brighton, Gerald Murphy of Alton; two daughters, Brenda (Herb) Harrison and Stephanie Murphy all of Alton; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Harold Wayne Fisher; and two sisters, Doris Johnessee and June Fisher.
Private services and burial were held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Alton.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River in charge of arrangements.
