Beatrice "Bea" Mildred Weaver, 100, passed away at 3:10 pm on Friday, December 1, 2023, in Alton, IL.
She was born on April 17, 1923, in Nebo, IL to Elza and Lola (Killebrew) Neese.
She married Howard D. Weaver on April 23, 1943, in Bowling Green, MO. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2012.
Bea was a homemaker in Godfrey for most of her life. She was known for always putting others before herself. She cared for her aging parents and spent many hours at the hospital and relative's homes visiting and giving comfort to those in need. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother, as she would always pick her grandchildren up from school and take them to the park and watch them play. Bea was an avid nutritionist and made sure to always prepare healthy food. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and really enjoyed listening to the sermons and going to any church activities. She also enjoyed exercising, traveling, and fishing. After 100 years of life, she had the best stories to tell her family and friends.
Beatrice is survived by two sons, Garry (Sue) Weaver of Godfrey, IL, and Larry (Starla) Weaver of Jerseyville, IL; a brother, Gary Neese, Sr. of Alton, IL; and two Grandsons, John Weaver of Colorado Springs, CO, and David Weaver of Godfrey, IL.
Along with her husband and parents, Bea was preceded in death by her infant children, Terry, Sharon, and Linda Weaver, and brothers, Junior and Byron Neese.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
A graveside service will be at 11:00am on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Indian Creek Cemetery in Hamburg, IL. Burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Brighton Church of Christ.
