Betty J. Warren, 93, died at 6:10 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born June 25, 1930 in Alton the daughter of the late George and Stella (Bowman) Michael Sr. She was a member of the Godfrey First United Methodist Church. On April 4, 1997 in Edwardsville she married Joseph Warren and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1999. Surviving are one son, Louis Valdes of Wood River, two step daughters, Renee and Tammy, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Betty loved to go bowling with her friend, Janet Beckham and all the lady’s on the bowling teams, every Monday.
She enjoyed yard work and talking on the phone with her niece, Clair Shafer and nephew Arthur Harris. She also enjoyed taking care of her cat, Angel and watching all of the St. Louis Cardinal Games. Betty will always be loved and missed. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Valdes II, one daughter, Janice Sasek, two sisters, Janice McCoy and Mary Martin (Bill Martin) and one brother, George Michael Jr. Visitation will be Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
