Herbert M. Hildebrand, 87, of Alton, IL, died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. He was born December 20, 1936, in Carlinville, IL to Alvin Hildebrand & Nellie Elberg Hildebrand. He was a retired school bus driver. Herbert was a veteran of the US Air Force after having served from 1958-1962. He is survived by his brother, David W. Hildebrand of Gillespie, IL. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents and son, Bradley W. Hildebrand. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. Funeral services are Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie. Burial will be at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville, IL.
