Rose Marie (Wortham) Price, beloved mother, grandmother and nurse, passed away peacefully on March 19, at the age of 93. She left behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and remarkable achievements.

Born on February 26, 1931, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Rose was the daughter of Robert & Edna (Adams) Wortham.

A dedicated nurse, she retired from St. Elizabeth's in Granite City. She continued her legacy of always being the caregiver and came out of retirement working in nursing homes and at St. Anthony's hospital in Alton until just before her 80th birthday.

Rose loved spending time in her yard and showing off her plentiful flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed sewing beautiful dresses for her granddaughters, and cooking many a delicious meal for her family, lest no one forget her homemade bread.

From a young age Rose had a love of music and animals. There was rarely a time you wouldn't find a pet under foot.

Rose is survived by her children:

Kathy Wilkinson, Diana (Eric) Wofford, Steven (Michelle) Price, Darin Price, Robert (Janice) Williams, Connie (Pete) Flick and Phyllis Lockhart

Grandchildren:

Andrew (Jennifer) Price, Magalene Price, Dustan Toenyes, Jennifer Honeycutt, Rebecca Donohue, Christopher Wood, Jason Wood, Norma Jean (Linda) Wallen, Robby (Katie) Price, Aubrey (Clint) Krcmar, Andrea (Don) Brown, Elizabeth Kindhart , Kimberli Lockhart and Michael Lockhart as well as 22 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by:

Parents, Edna Adams & Robert Wortham; husband, Charles Price; daughter, Karen Shoptaw; son, Charles Richard Price; son in law Frank Wilkinson; granddaughter, Amy Kindhart; grandsons, Jeremiah Williams & Ricky Price

In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in

Granite City on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. where

funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with

Reverend Sharon Autenrieth officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.

Memorial donations may be given to 5A’s Animal Shelter in Godfrey, IL or a local animal shelter.
