Janice Case

Janice Marie Case, 73, died at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Willow Rose Rehab in Jerseyville. 

Born August 10, 1950 in Alton, she was the daughter of John Oetken Sr. and Bertha (Hellrung) Oetken. On January 25, 1970 she married Warren “Bud” Case Jr. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2018. 

Mrs. Case was a member of Grace Community Baptist Church in Jerseyville. She retired in 2018 as an accountant for Bunge/Con Agra.

Surviving are two daughters, Stacy Wooten (Johnny) of Jerseyville and Jennifer Case Huck (Donald Kopsie) of Alton, three grandchildren, Tyler Wooten (Cheryl) who is serving in the U.S. Air Force, Aaron Wooten who is serving in the U.S. Army, and Nicholas Kopsie, and two great grandchildren, Joseph Howard Wooten and Lillian Rae Wooten. She is also survived by a brother, Jimmy Oetken Sr. (Susan) of Alton, and a sister, Joyce Oetken of St. Louis, MO. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John “Jack” Oetken Jr. and Jeffrey Oetken, and a sister, Jacqueline Hawkins.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A home going celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2024 at the Grace Community Baptist Church in Jerseyville. Pastor Johnny Wooten will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
