Dorothy Ilene Price, age 90 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Breese Caring First Nursing Home in Breese, IL.
She was born on Monday, May 8, 1933, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (nee Pope) Perkins.
On Saturday, November 13, 1948, she married Ray Price at E. St. Louis, IL, who passed away on Saturday, December 27, 1980.
She was a former member of the First Baptist Church, Alhambra, IL.
Mrs. Price was born in Alton, IL; at age 8 her family moved to Springfield, IL; then at age 13 to East St. Louis, IL. She and her husband married when she was 14 years old. They lived in East St. Louis; Pocahontas (rural), New Douglas and Willisville, IL. Following her husband's death, she moved to Highland, IL. She had worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland for over 12 years, retiring in February of 1993. She had played with the Happy Kitchen Kids (a local group of ladies); and also enjoyed oil painting (landscapes).

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Jeremy R. Wood, Pastor, Salem United Church of Christ, Alhambra, IL, officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
