Rick D. Workman, 71, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO, following a massive stroke.Rick was born Nov. 23, 1953 in Alton, the son of Harold D. Workman and the former Geraldine A. Burk.He retired in 2009 as an electrician/electronics technician for Olin Corp. and was a member of IBEW #649. He loved to hunt and fish and tended a garden as well. He was an NRA Junior Rifle instructor for several years.Above all, Rick loved his family and multitude of friends. He truly knew no strangers.Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Beverly L. (McCoy) Workman; his children, Kristina (Brad) Thompson of Bethalto, Brian Rain of Seattle, WA, Andy Workman of Edwardsville, Nathan (Jennifer) Rain of Winter Springs, FL, and Bethany (Morgan) Ryan of Germany; 7 grandchildren, Zach, Hannah, Emmah, Aidan, Kalyn, Lucas, and Clover; sister Brenda (Jeffrey) Mangers; Stepbrother Randall (Andrea) Huff; sister-in-law, Joyce Huff; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Larry (Barb) McCoy, Lonnie McCoy, Cheryl (Gary) Pyle, Elaine (Sherri Colborn) McCoy, Christopher Steinmann, and Angie (Jessie) Bickers; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Workman, mother Geraldine Workman Huff, stepfather, Keith Huff, brother Michael Huff, brother-in-law Billy McCoy, and sister-in-law, Donna McCoy.His life will be celebrated with a memorial visitation Thursday, Jan. 9 at Paynic Home forFunerals from 4 p.m. until services begin at 6 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winchester Gun Club or a charity of one’s choice.An online guestbook is available at www.paynicfh.com.
