Merna L. Buhs, 98, of Bunker Hill, IL, died at Asbury Village, Godfrey, IL on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 9 a.m.
She was born June 11, 1926, in Shipman, IL to Harry Fite & Gladys Hackney Fite. She married Melvin Buhs on September 5, 1945 at the Woodburn Bible Church. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2009.
She was a homemaker. Merna was treasurer of Woodburn Bible Church for 44 years. She enjoyed Cardinals baseball and loved her family.
She is survived by her son, Dennis (Steph) Buhs of Bunker Hill, IL, grandchildren, Matt (Nancy) Buhs, Adam (Wylie) Buhs, Kile (Angie) Buhs, Karrie (Donnie) Stahl, Klayton (Brooke) Buhs, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Merna was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, son, Terry (Cathy) Buhs, sisters, Edna Mae Strohbeck, Thelma Schoeneman, Esther "Pud" Taggart, Dorothy "Cookie" Strohbeck, twin sister, Verna Kahl, brother, John "Jack" Fite.
Friends may call on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home, Bunker Hill from 9 until 11 a.m.
Funeral services are Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home, Bunker Hill. Burial will be at Woodburn Cemetery, Woodburn, IL.
