Charlotte Jane (Bristow) Yinger, 70, went to heaven on December 30, 2024, at 7 pm. She was at home with her family by her side.
She was born in Carlinville on July 7, 1954, to Donald and Roberta Bristow.
She was raised in Alton, and graduated Alton High School ('72). She taught school at Alpha Christian Academy, and owned "Clip-n-Clean" dog grooming for 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed animals, swimming, gaming, shopping, and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Her passion, however, was being a mother. Her love was patient, unwavering, and steadfast. She has touched so many lives with her unconditional love and kindness. She will forever be missed.
She married Timothy G. Yinger on October 9, 1971, and he survives. They went on to have three children, Stephanie (David) Torrez, William (Bryce) Yinger, Justin (Cara) Yinger; a bonus daughter, Sally (Brandon) Rodgers; her cherished eleven grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Carlisle, Ryan Torrez, Rebecca (Marc) Mares, Abigail (Colton) Yinger, Faith Yinger, Bill Yinger, Justin (Hannah) Yinger, Josh Yinger, Mariah Gaither, Everlee and Clyde Rodgers; her adored nine great-grandchildren, Mariah, Macei, Madisyn, Oliver Carlisle, Mason, Finnley, Ella, Karter Mares, and Zoey Hickerson; one great great grandchild, Nova Cobb. Her step-mother, Mae Bristow, and four siblings, Ronnie Bristow, Melinda (Henry) Grabbe, Melvin (Monica) Bristow, Terry (Kathy) Bristow; brothers-in-law, Richard (Linda) Yinger, Paul (Aurora) Yinger, Tom (Carolyn) Yinger; sister-in-law, Debbie (Mark) Schultz; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Donald Bristow, Roberta Crandall, and Richard Crandall, and two nephews Keith Yinger, Donald Bock, and Jonathan Etchison, and a sister-in-law Laurie Bristow.
There will be a Celebration of Life party at her request at the Wood River Moose Lodge, from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, January 18.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Illinois Center of Autism.
