Sandra Kay Millikin, nee Grimes, born October 16, 1943 in Fithian, Ill., passed away Thursday morning, January 2, 2025 at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home, Lebanon, Ill.
Sandy was raised in Fithian, where she graduated from Oakwood High School. She later moved to Danville, where she raised her two sons. She was always a caregiver to others - from young children in daycare to providing care and companionship to older aging adults. When she wasn’t giving of herself to others, she could be found at the sprint cars racetracks throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Knoxville, Iowa. Sandy loved her grandchildren and was glad to be part of their lives while living in the Lebanon, Ill., area.
She was preceded in death by her former husband James Millikin, to whom she was married for 26 years; her parents Harold ‘Bill’ and Margaret, nee Dalby, Grimes; brother Ray (Naomi) Grimes, and her sister-in-law Barbara Jo Grimes.
Surviving are her sons James (Diana) Millikin of Nolensville, Tenn., and William (Ann) Millikin of Lebanon, Ill., her grandchildren Gabrielle, Julia, and Christopher; and her brother Larry (Faye Marie) Grimes of Cleveland, Tenn.
