Darrell G. Buettner, age 65 of rural Greenville, passed away in a single vehicle rollover on Millersburg Road at 7:04 p.m. Sunday evening on February 1, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Darrell Gene Buettner, the son of Jerome Louis Buettner and Florence Evelyn (Kent) Buettner was born on February 4, 1959, in Florissant, Mo.
Darrell was raised in Granite City and attended the public schools and Granite City High School North. Darrell worked as an independent painting contractor and later was a maintenance mechanic in apartments for many years. Darrell enjoyed playing guitar and cards with family/friends.
Darrell is survived by his stepdaughter Stacy (Steven) Woolen of Indiana, two grandsons: Dylan and Justin Woolen, and great-grandson Jaxston Woolen, two brothers Wayne E Buettner of Granite City, Larry (Linda) Buettner of Granite City, sister-in-law Sue Buettner of Florida, sister Dola (Dan) Durborow of Greenville, and many nieces and nephews.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Steven Buettner.
