Roger William Spears, Sr., age 74 of Greenville and formerly of Granite City, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
In keeping with his wishes, the family are having private services.
Roger was born June 12, 1950, in Ishpeming, Michigan. He was the only child of Arthur Leon Spears and Barbara Jean Beeby.
He married Patricia “Pat” Hammack on July 24, 1970, in Granite City, Illinois. Roger and Pat lived there, raised their family, and he worked for over 25 years at National Lead, now Tara Corp. where he was a foreman. He retired and they moved to Greenville.
Surviving is his wife Pat, son Roger Spears Jr. and wife Michelle of O’Fallon, Missouri, son Kenneth Spears of Greenville, and daughter April Brandon and husband Robert of Edwardsville, Illinois.
He was the loving grandfather of Kendall, Kaylee, and Liam.
