Clifford Martin

Clifford Dean Martin, 69, passed away March 7, 2025 at his residence.

Born August 7, 1955 in Alton, he was the son of Robert James and Pearl Marie (McLain) Martin.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he had been employed as a service manager for U-Wash Equipment. His love for the Lord led him preach and evangelize at Full Gospel Evangelistic Center and at House of Victory. He was a handyman for friends and church members, enjoying playing the bass guitar and working at the food pantry.

Om July 25, 1974 in Edwardsville, he married the love of his life, Nettie Jane Patterson. She survives.

Surviving also are sons, Christopher (Amanda) Martin, David (Madelaine) Martin, Samuel (Kristian) Martin; 10 grandchildren, Gabrielle Hoard, Abigail Martin, Lana Martin, Jayden Martin, Sarah Martin, Amelia "Millie" Martin, Alexis "Lexi" Martin, Kobie Clemens, Joseph Martin, Kyler Valencia; three great grandchildren, Bryer, Luka and Nova Lee Hoard; two brothers, James Bricker, Sr., Harlan "Tooty" Martin; and four sisters, Alice (Greg) Filback, Carol Mott, Debbie (David) Rudd, and Lara (Ed) Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert Martin, Jackie Martin, Ronnie Martin, Dennis Martin; and three sisters, Maxine Clark, Joyce Ann Carter, and Nancy Grace Martin.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Tuesday, March 11 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River where services will be conducted at 11 am, Tuesday. Pastor Timothy Naylor will officiate.

Burial will follow in Wanda Cemetery led by The Illinois Patriot Guard and military honors presented by Alton VFW Post 1308.

Memorials are suggested to the House of Victory Food Pantry.
