Jennifer Louann Stennis, 41, passed away at 2:52 pm Friday, March 21, 2025 at her home in Gillespie, IL.
She was born on October 21, 1983 in Killeen, TX the daughter of Stephanie Journey and Bruce and Cathi Journey.
Jennifer married Jamal Stennis on September 23, 2023, in Alton and he survives.
Jennifer was a Boy Scout Leader and took great pride in her work with them. She loved baking and cooking. Jennifer's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Jamal; Jennifer is survived by her parents; five children, Sha'nya Stennis, Mh'Shonda Stennis, Ja'na Stennis, Jamal Stennis Jr., and Amora Stennis; three siblings and their spouses, Lindsay and Jared Cloninger, Kyle Journey, and Tiffany and Tyler Harris; a grandchild, Ki'synn Stennis; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Albert C. Journey; grandmother, Gaye Wren; and an aunt Debbie Walter.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Kirstan Gray officiating.
Her ashes will be interred at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date.
