Robert Paul Jackson, 37, born on September 23, 1987 was set free from Crohn's disease on March 28, 2025. On May 25, 2013 Robert married the love of his life, Emily Jackson (nee Cross).
Robert graduated from Alton High School in 2006. He then went on to graduate from Ranken Technical College in 2008. Following graduation Robert was hired by the Alton School District where he built a career fostering the bright young minds of future generations.
Robert is survived by his wife Emily, Parents Darold and Sandy Jackson, brother Jeremy (Heather) Jackson, Parents-in-law Bill and Sue Cross, sisters-in-law, Amanda (Gil) Ouellette, Robin (Carl) Cross, Nieces and Nephews Neveah, Elijah, Tosh, Kaiden, Jayla, Atlan, Reno, and Relic as well as many chosen brothers and sisters.
Robert was a memorable person who left an impact on everyone he met. He loved everything about life and the experiences he encountered. One of his favorite experiences was going to music festivals where everyone knew to look for the fuzzy red hat. His fedora held pins that documented all of his special adventures, which he would happily tell you all about.
Among the many things Robert loved were family, friends that became family, music, The Grateful Dead, traveling, sports (especially trash talking the opposing team), Crocs, and sharing his knowledge and opinions with everyone he met. He did not know a stranger. He also found joy in cheering on his loved ones in their accomplishments even when he was unable to physically be there.
Visitation will be on April 4, 2025 from 4:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Memorials are suggested to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
In Robert’s honor, listen to his favorite song, Ripple by The Grateful Dead, share a memory of him, learn something new, and always be kind.
“When I go, don't you dare feel sorry for me. I’m going to have all of the answers to the universe and it will be glorious” - Robert Jackson
