Jordan Boomershine

Jerseyville 04/06/2025

Jordan Robert Boomershine, 44, passed away unexpectedly at 8:10 p.m., Sunday, April 6, 2025, at his home in Jerseyville.

Born on July 28, 1980, in Alton, Illinois, he was the beloved son of Robert and Cindi (Stoutner) Boomershine. Jordan grew up in Alton and was a proud graduate of Alton High School’s Class of 1998. For the past two decades, he made his home in Jersey County. He spent the majority of his working career as a machinist at True Manufacturing until health issues required his medical retirement.

Jordan’s life was shaped by love, family, and resilience. He was raised as part of a loving and blended family—a foundation he continued when he married Jamie Cornelius on May 6, 2017. Together, they built a life centered around love, music, laughter, and their children.

An avid fisherman and true movie buff, Jordan had a particular love for horror films. But above all, he was a music enthusiast. His passion for heavy metal was unapologetic and contagious, and anyone who knew him could recognize how deeply music was woven into his spirit—whether or not they shared his taste in bands.

Jordan’s memory lives on through those he loved most: his wife, Jamie Boomershine of Jerseyville; his children, Brenden and Stevie Boomershine; his stepchildren, Ayden Quinn and Sawyer Bell; his mother and stepfather, Cindi and James Simpson of Jerseyville; his father and stepmother, Robert and Nancy Boomershine of Bethalto; and his grandmothers, Sharon Stoutner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Charlotte Birdsong of Bethalto and Helen Brown of Jerseyville.

He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Mason and Claire Boomershine of Traverse City, Michigan; his sister, Lindsey Kramer of Jerseyville; and his extended step-siblings, Danielle Baker, Derrick Brown, Randy Herrin, Kenny Herrin, Kristen Edward, Nicholas Simpson, Joseph Simpson, and Samuel Simpson; many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as his best friend since childhood, Steve Heiens.

In addition, Jordan is remembered with love by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bruce and Cindy Cornelius of Dow; his brother-in-law, Bradley Cornelius of Jerseyville; sister-in-law, Jenna Cornelius of Dow; and grandparents-in-law, Melvin and Ramona Highfill of Jerseyville.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Stoutner, Marilyn Smith, Cloyed and Bonie Boomershine and Kenneth Brown; his stepfather, David Brown; and his brother-in-law, Brian Cornelius.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. at 1AG Church in Jerseyville. In true Jordan fashion, guests are encouraged to honor his memory by rocking their favorite band or character t-shirt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, in gratitude for the care they provided to Jordan’s son, Brenden.

Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
