
Carole Elaine (Sharp) Fallin, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the age of 85, at Jerseyville Manor, as a result of an inoperable mass. Carole leaves behind her beloved husband, Kenneth Fallin, after sharing 66 years of marriage, the anniversary of which was just three days prior to her death, and her precious children, Elizabeth Smilack, Todd Fallin, and grandson, Jared Smilack, all of Jerseyville.
Carole was born in East Chicago, Indiana on January 6, 1940. Growing up in Whiting, Indiana, Carole attended Whiting High School, where she was involved in music (concertmistress of the orchestra and piano accompanist), drama, cheerleading, National Honor Society, and many other interests. After high school graduation in 1957, Carole attended Ball State University on a full music scholarship, where she also played in the first violin section with the Muncie Symphony. After Carole and Ken were married and their children were young, they moved to Irvine, California, where they lived for 40+ years. Carole and Ken were founding members of Liberty Baptist Church, Newport Beach, CA, where she was the church pianist and an active member for many years. Carole was a legal assistant and after her retirement in 2003, moved with the family to Jerseyville, where many relatives resided.
Surviving are her husband Kenneth Fallin of Jerseyville; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Fallin Smilack, one son, Todd Melvin Fallin, and one grandson, Jared Taylor Smilack, all of Jerseyville. Also surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, David and Bonnie Sharp of Valparaiso, Indiana; brother-in-law and wife, Bill and Debbie Fallin of Jerseyville; sister-in-law and husband, Julia and Lee Norrgard of Reston Virginia; sister-in-law and husband, Roxie and Sid Gresham of Jerseyville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Margaret Sharp; brother, Richard Sharp; sister Phyllis Menguy; and sister, Linda Sharp.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Jerseyville, Illinois on Friday, April 11 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with the funeral services following at the church at 11:00 am, conducted by Pastor Brent Meyer. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
