Robert G. Zieler, 88, of Gillespie, IL, died at Community Memorial Hospital, Staunton, IL on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 2:04 am.
He was born October 23, 1936, in Chicago, IL to Stephen Zieler & Rita Carr Zieler. He married Joy Darlene LaDassor on January 4, 2016. He was retired after having been a police officer for the City of Oak Lawn and an over the road truck driver. Robert enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his spouse, Joy LaDassor, sons, Robert J. Zieler, Joseph A. Zieler, step children, Ronica (Eugene) Campbell, James (Kelly) Force, Jerrie (Steve) Anderson, James (Renee) O'Connell, Jr, grandchildren, Alyssa Gwynne, Tessa Davis, Zaira Davis, Nicholas Zieler, Stephanie Deltaan, Mitchel Zieler, Abby Zieler, Joseph Zieler, Zachery Zieler, Kara Zieler, step grandchildren, Terry Robbins, Joseph Robbins, Dylan Anderson, LeRoy Campbell, Shane Campbell, Cora Schalk, James Force, Jr., Candy Force, Brandon Force, Amanda O'Connell, Daran O'Connell. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, son, Stephen Zieler, step grandson, Nicholas J. O'Connell.

Funeral services are Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Gillespie, IL.
