Deborah Jenne

Bethalto 05/02/2025

Deborah L. Jenne, 67, of Bethalto, heard the voice of her Lord calling her home on May 2, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Alton on May 31, 1957, the daughter of the late Laverne and Martha (Balsters) Jenne.

Debbie was baptized into the Lutheran faith and was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a member of the first class to attend Zion Lutheran School. Debbie belonged to the SonShine Celebration youth choir and served as a chaperone for many years. She played in the handbell choir, served the church on the Altar Guild, and LERT team. She also spent many weeks on mission trips to Camp Restore in New Orleans and currently served as the church treasurer. She had many friends at Zion and will be missed especially by her Sunday Morning Breakfast group.

After graduating in 1979 from Millikin University in Decatur IL, Debbie was employed as a Medical Technologist/Quality Control Coordinator at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, retiring in January 2023 after 43 years.

In her life, Debbie treasured her family, especially her nieces and great niece and nephews. She also held a strong interest in family genealogy, photography, and traveling, having visited 48 states. Her favorite destination was Colorado where she visited numerous times with her travel co-pilot, Sally.

Survivors include her brother, Michael Jenne of New Baden, Il.; a sister, Cynthia (Tim) Tweedy of Bethalto; an aunt, Betty Greenwood of Chatham, IL; nieces Amie Meyer (Jeff), Ashley (Kelsey) Tweedy, and Addison (Hannah) Tweedy; her great nephews and niece Pacey, Raven, and Mariah; as well as several cousins.
