Judy Zbinden, age 74 of Greenville, passed away May 8, 2025, at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, at the Smith Grove Baptist Church in Greenville. Interment will follow in Smith Grove Cemetery. The family welcomes all to the service. Pastor Joe Zbinden will be officiating.
Judy Cody, the daughter of John Cody Jr. and Opal Swain, was born March 1, 1951, in Springfield, Illinois. Judy grew up in Springfield and attended the local schools. The family moved to Greenville and Judy completed her last year at Greenville High School with the Class of 1969.
Judy and Harry Zbinden were united in marriage on May 25, 1968. They had a son, John Zbinden, who survives and lives in Breese, Illinois. Also surviving is her grandson Joseph and his mother Sabrina Linkey. Harry preceded Judy in death.
Her entire life, Judy always liked helping others. She worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Utlaut Memorial Hospital. She continued her service in helping other by babysitting children in her home. Judy also cooked at various places including Hickey’s (now LuBob’s).
Judy was one of three children; survived by a sister Sharon (Jim) Watkins of Seattle, brother Ed Cody, and sister-in-law Roberta Zbinden of Greenville.
