Chris A. Mueller, 64, died at 11:34 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2025 at OSF St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton. Born December 17, 1960 in Alton, he was the son of Deane and Loretta (Boucher) Mueller.
After graduating from Alton High School, Chris enlisted in the US Navy. He served on the USS Roosevelt and the USS Nimitz.He later worked construction with his brother Larry and retired from Conoco Phillips Refinery.
Chris enjoyed restoring furniture, tinkering, gardening, and watching really bad Sci-Fi movies. During the holidays, he was Santa at events in the community.
He married Pamela Mueller on May 13, 1989.She preceded him in death.
While he didn’t have children of his own, he raised three stepchildren with much love. Jennifer (Jim) Davis, Timothy Cunningham, and Marci (Will) Mueller. He was Pop to six grandchildren, Torrie (Eric) Cunningham, Alex (Claire) Davis, Joe Davis, Tyler Cunningham, Kiersten Cunningham, and William Mueller and great-grandchildren, Jimmy Davis, EJ Williams, and Desiree Cunningham. He is also survived by his siblings, Larry (Denil) Mueller, Rick (Kathy) Mueller, David (Averyl) Mueller, Jerry (Sue) Mueller, John (Beverly) Mueller and Judy (Rick) Gann as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Eli Williams.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.Memorials may be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
