
Mary Louise Prsha, nee Hensler, age 92, of Fairmont City, IL, born on March 17, 1933, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 at her home.
Mary Lou graduated from East St. Louis High School in 1950 and worked as a secretary for many years before becoming a flight attendant for American Airlines in 1956. Later, she worked as the head checker for Schnucks in Collinsville, IL for 23 years and won many awards, including a free trip to Hawaii. She retired at age 62.
Mary Lou married Frank Prsha, Sr., on May 25, 1957 and had five children. She and Frank enjoyed traveling, especially overseas, and were active with Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Senior Citizens in Fairmont City for many years. She loved her family fiercely and the town of Fairmont City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Prsha, Sr.; her children, Frank Prsha, Jr., Nicky Prsha, and Donna Prsha; and her parents, Edward Hensler and Florine Sexton.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Maher of Gulfport, MS; her son, Mark (Lisa) Prsha of Highland, IL; her grandchildren, Devon Williams of Fairmont City, Cameron Williams of Fairmont City, Justin Maher of Dallas, TX, Frankie Prsha of St. Jacob, IL, Ashley (Justin) Perkins of Fairview Heights, IL, and Kai Cinan of Houston, TX; her great grandchildren, Natania and Pelia Perkins; and many nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made to her church.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Harold Fisher and Father James Buerster officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
