Paul C. Rodgers, Jr., 63, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at his home.
Born September 13, 1961, in Alton, he was a son of Paul, Sr. and Theresa (Eastham) Rodgers.
Paul proudly served his country as a tank system mechanic in the United States Army. He had many stories from his service in Germany and the many concerts he attended in his youth. He was a fan of rock music, especially KSHE-95. Paul consistently donated blood throughout his life at KSHE blood drives. He enjoyed family trips to southern Missouri, especially four-wheeling and bonfires at Cloud 9 Ranch, trips to the family farm house, and driving from place to place to catch up with family and friends in the area.
Paul enjoyed hunting for lost treasures at local flea markets and yard sales, but he enjoyed even more sharing those treasures with family and friends. He collected many things throughout his life, from old cars and guns to stamps and coins. Paul saw value in the history of the things he collected. He was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. His greatest joy was his time as "Paw Paw," which his grandkids lovingly called him.
Survivors include his daughter, Samantha (Edward) Huber of Bethalto; sons Steven (Laura) Rodgers of Chicago, and Brandon (Sally) Rodgers of Bethalto; those grandkids he loved, Cael, Nephenee, Galen, Eleanor, Arlo, Mariah, Everlee, and Clyde; a brother, Bob (Shelby) Rodgers of Bethalto; sister Marie Pichee of Alton; and a sister-in-law, Irene Rodgers of Bethalto.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carolyn Davis; three brothers, James, Dennis, and William Rodgers; and a brother-in-law, Daniel Pichee.
A visitation will be held at Paynic Funeral Home on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. He will be laid to rest afterwards at 1:30 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors. A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held following the military service at the Cottage Hills VFW from 4-8 p.m. Food will be served from 4-6 p.m.
