Shirley Jean Lair, 66, of Brighton, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 28, 1958, in Alton, the daughter of the late Elmer and Martha (Hughes) Lair.
Shirley worked as a teacher’s aide and did woodcrafts at Beverly Farms for 27 years and worked in housekeeping and laundry at Robings Manor for 17 years. She enjoyed woodworking and woodcrafts, painting, puzzles, and playing slots machines. Her greatest joys always came from her son Jeremy and being his mother.
She is survived by her son Jeremy (Cassandra) Lair of Brighton; four grandchildren Levi, Landyn, Linkyn, and Liberty Wedel; sister Marti (Larry) Kahl; four brothers Paul (Jane) Lair, Jim (Sheila) Lair, Wayne (Laura) Lair, Dave (Martha) Lair; several nieces, nephews, and many many friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her Parents, Elmer and Martha; brother Earl Lair.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until 1 pm on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Graveside services will follow visitation at Brighton Cemetery.
