William Inman

William "Dale" Inman, 93, passed away at 10:24 am on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Jerseyville Manor.

He was born in Fredricktown, MO, on January 12, 1932, the son of Theodore and Eva (Williams) Inman. He married Jessie "Jackie" Levi in Wood River on May 23, 1958. She preceded him in death.

Dale worked for 32 years at Owens Illinois Glass Company as a machine operator until his retirement in 1994. He later worked at Mercantile Bank as a courier and also at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf as a greeter and driver for many years. He was a member of Whitelaw Baptist Church in Wood River and then a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. He loved to travel in his RV with his wife, while being a camp host. They would winter in McAllen, Texas. Dale also loved to hunt for raccoons and go fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his children, Jeanette Deeder of Godfrey, and William "Bill" (Lisa) Inman of Brighton; grandchildren, Tracy (John) Ducey of Godfrey, Denise (Chris) Schleeper of Alton, Zachary (Kristen) Deeder of Alton, and Hannah (Jared) Gansz of Carlinville; and his great-grandchildren, Summer Schleeper, Olivia Ducey, Donavon Ducey, Madeleine Ducey, and Austin Olson.

Along with his parents and wife Jackie, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Don Deeder; and a great-grandson, Maximus Christopher Schleeper; brothers, Jesse Inman, Jerome Inman, Joseph Inman, Theodore Inman, Vester Inman, and Ishmel Inman; and sisters, Delphia Couch, and Marie Hovis.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 9:30 am until time of service at 11 am, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church or a charity of one's choice.
