
Cecil Edward Williams, 90, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Granite City.
He was born January 9, 1935, in Granite City, a son of the late Dewey Edward and Helen (Whitmire) Williams.
He married Alice Evelyn (Dowdy) Williams on August 8, 1975, in Wood River and she passed away on January 23, 2021.
Cecil retired from Boeing in St. Louis after many years of dedicates service as a planner. He was a member of the Granite City Elks and Masonic Lodge and served on the board of the Mitchell Water District and the Granite City Steel Credit Union. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed his days of fishing and hunting.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Cathy Williams of Salem, Missouri and Mike and Barb Williams of Granite City; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Kelly and Cindy Hodges Jr. of Edwardsville; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Kim and Ron Parente of Granite City; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Zach, Ronnie, Kassie, Aaron, Jeff, Janice, Christine and Jacob; eight great grandchildren, Jason, Kayleigh, Gabriel, Serenity, Wade, Oskar, Cullen and Kimberlin; a great-great grandson, Maxis; two brothers, Gerald Williams of Granite City and Wayne Williams of Granite City; three sisters, Winnie Pointer of Granite City, Rosetta Kuehnel of Granite City and Wanda Aiken of Granite City; many nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Iva Mae Grant and one brother, George Williams.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
