Virginia Aylsworth

Virginia A. Aylsworth, 85, of Troy, IL born Saturday, December 30, 1939, in Ladysmith, WI and passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in St. Louis, MO.

Virginia attended St. Jerome Catholic Church and was a member of St. Ann Sodality. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Virginia worked as a Radiographer for many years at Scott Air Force Base Hospital. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her. Virginia enjoyed making big family dinners and cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face and was a friend to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Eugenia (nee Hayden) Kazmierkoski; her brother, Jack Kazmierkoski; sisters Judy Nelson and Jeanette Guns.

She is survived by her husband Joseph “Joe” Aylsworth; children, Lori (Rick) McCurdy of Troy, IL, James Michael “Mike” Aylsworth of Troy, IL, Jay T. (Ruth) Aylsworth of Troy, IL and Jerald A. (Debra) Aylsworth of Maryville, IL; grandchildren, Jeremy (Erin) McCurdy, Joshua McCurdy, Jana (Simon) Montgomery, Joseph Aylsworth, Jessica Aylsworth, Justin Aylsworth and Jaret (fiancée Makenna Schaefer) Aylsworth; great-grandchildren, Macy and Blair McCurdy; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation for Virginia will be 9:30 am to 11 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL.

Funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL with Fr. Kevin Laughery officiating. Private interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO at a later date.
