Rick Garbin, 72, of Gillespie, IL, died at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1:03 pm.
He was born March 17, 1953, in Staunton, IL to Louis P. Garbin & Marie (Grman) Garbin. He married Regina M. Bomkamp on July 20, 1974 in Gillespie, IL.
Rick was a retired coal miner for Monterey Coal Company and currently worked for Napa Auto Stores. Rick enjoyed walking, golfing, fishing and was an avid pro football fan. Rick also enjoyed being with his family and vacationing.
He is survived by his Wife, Regina Garbin of Gillespie, IL; Son, Ricky (Amanda) Garbin of Staunton, IL; Daughter, Rachel Garbin of Mt. Olive, IL; Two grandchildren, Rhett Garbin, Roslyn Hollers; Brother, Tom (Ruth) Garbin of Sawyerville, IL; Mother-in-law, Maxine Bomkamp of Carlinville, IL; Brother-in-law, Frank (Shelley) Barrett of Gillespie, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his Parents and Father-in-law, Bill Bomkamp.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Funeral services are Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 10:30 am at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie with Fr. Joe Koyickal officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Gillespie, IL.
