Roseann Thoman

O Fallon 07/05/2025

Roseann M. Thoman, age 94, of O’Fallon, Ill. born July 6, 1930, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her beloved nieces and nephews.

A lifelong resident of O’Fallon, Roseann was a 1944 graduate of St. Clare Catholic Grade School and graduated from O’Fallon Township High School in 1948, as salutatorian of her class. While a high-school senior, she began her 47 ½-year career with the former Quality Dairy, and retired from Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. in 1995 after many years as Office Manager. Wanting to remain active in her “retirement years,” she chose to work mornings at Thoman Insurance Agency for 12 years. Throughout her career, she was a member of the O’Fallon Business and Professional Women’s Club. Roseann kept a beautiful yard, taking pride in her flowers & vegetable garden, and lovingly caring for the birds.

Roseann had been a parishioner at St. Clare Catholic Church for her entire life, serving in many capacities, including Parish Trustee, Parish Council member, and Parish Director of Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). She lived a faith-filled life, contributing to the Poor Clares, and serving communities through St. Vincent de Paul Society, where her home was a depository for food collection; she received their Top Hat award for her volunteer contributions. Roseann fully embraced her role as AUNT and was a beloved family member and devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her nephews and nieces and their families, to include Mary Beth (Brad) Badgley, Joanne Blassie, Russ (Patty) Thoman, James Thoman, and Rick (Patti) Thoman; great nieces and nephews Bree Badgley, Blaire (Charlie) Klehm and daughters Helena and Heidi, Michael Blassie, Jonathan (Kristina) Blassie and their baby girl due in October, Patrick (Summer) Blassie and their son George, Meghan Thoman, Erin Thoman, Alyssa Thoman, Zachary Thoman, William Thoman, Katy Thoman, Tina Thoman, and Niki Thoman; and extended family members and cousins.

The family is grateful to Debbie Schachner-Syano for her friendship and in-home care that she shared with Roseann for the past 16 months. They created a wonderful bond, and Debbie became a good friend.

Roseann was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Marie, nee Siekmann, Thoman; her sister Rosemary in infancy; and her brother Russell Thoman and his wife Eleanor.

Memorial donations are suggested to Poor Clare Monastery of Our Lady of Mercy, St. Vincent de Paul Society-Cosgrove’s Kitchen, or St. Clare Catholic Church, as these causes were special to Roseann. Online condolences and memories of Roseann may be shared at www.wfh-ofallon.com.

Visitation: 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2025, at St. Clare Catholic Church, 1411 Cross St., in Shiloh, Ill., and after 9:30 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the church.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at St. Clare Catholic Church, with Rev. James Deiters, presiding. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
