Guadalupe Sharon

Swansea 03/17/2026

Guadalupe “Lupe” Sharon (nee Cantu), 72, of Swansea, IL, born on March 28, 1953, in Anáhuac, MX, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Colonnade Senior Living in O’Fallon, IL surrounded by her family.

Lupe was a masterful cook and a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. Her family knew not to walk in front of the television if she was watching the football game. Lupe was a career nurse, having received her BSN, and worked at several hospitals but the mainstays were Belleville Memorial Hospital and Scott Air Force Base. During her time at Scott AFB, she was the head nurse of the high-risk pregnancy clinic. But above all, Lupe was a very loving wife, mother, nurse, and grandmother. Being with and around her grandchildren was everything to her.

Lupe was preceded in death by her parents, Catarino and Demetria Cantu (nee Gonzalez); and four siblings.

Left to cherish Lupe’s memory is her loving husband, Frank Sharon; two daughters, Joyce (Nathan) Mcleod-Hughes, Jennifer (John) Manuel; five siblings, Issac Cantu, Enrique Cantu, Petra Martinez, Catarino Cantu Jr., and Raymond Cantu; four grandchildren, Michael Mcleod, Avery Mcleod-Hughes, Lilah Mcleo-Hughes, and Olivia Manuel.

Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Burial will be on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 9:15 AM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home.
