Larry Oliver Joellenbeck, 80, of O’Fallon, IL, born on May 13, 1946, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 17, 2026, at San Gabriel Memory Care in Highland, IL.
Larry was a Christian man devoted to his family. Larry and Sarah recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, and he was very proud and supportive of his three daughters. His grandchildren called him “Pa” and in his retirement he took on the babysitting honor. He enjoyed making people laugh and was known for his goofy demeanor, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy Joellenbeck (nee Klotz); daughter, Julianna Joellenbeck.
Surviving Larry is his wife, Sarah Joellenbeck (Stumne); his children, Michele (husband David) Lyerla of Panama City Beach, FL, Jennifer (husband David) Seyfer of Belleville, IL and Katie (husband Brent) Wakefield of O’Fallon, IL; sister Janice Gallo of AZ; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Kirkton, Ayla Pryor, Joel Seyfer, Julia Seyfer and Zoey Wakefield; 2 great grandchildren, Elle Kirton and Ava Kirkton; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be hosted by the family on Saturday August 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, (formal memorial to begin at 11:30am), at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Ave. O’Fallon, IL 62269.
Larry will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
