Mary Poeling, 72, passed away Friday morning, July 31, 2026 at La Bella of Alton.
Born September 29, 1952 in Alton. She was the daughter of Clarence Poeling and Mildred [Wagener] Poeling.
She was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church [formerly St. Bernards Catholic Church] in Wood River, Illinois. Mary has been a life-long member of the church, attended Catholic grade school as well. She had been a member of the Altar Society.
Mary worked at Miller's Mutual of Alton until her retirement.
Survived by Niece, Laura Wiegand of Bethalto.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Helen [Poeling] Wiegand, brother-in-law Richard Wiegand, and brother John Poeling.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5thfrom 10:00 AM to Noon, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River. A mass will be celebrated at Noon at the church by Father Wolford.
Burial will follow at Woodland HIll Cemetery in East Alton, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincient de Paul or masses.
