Carol Jean Britt, 85, passed away August 24, 2026 at Evercare Stearns Nursing and Rehab Center in Granite City.
Born July 4, 1941 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Elvis Oliver and Eileen (Accord) Flowers.
She had been employed in the housekeeping department at Stearns Nursing and Rehab for over 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
On August 29, 1959 in St. Louis, she married Kenneth Wayne Britt, Sr. He died March 22, 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Wayne, Jr. (Rebekah) Britt, Charles Ray (Traci) Britt all of Granite City; two daughters, Gloria Jean (Ted) Hall of Brighton, Nancy (Christian) Barnes of Granite City; eight grandchildren, Ted (Amy) Hall, Melanie (James) Hoper, Christian, Jr. (Stephanie) Barnes, Jonathan Britt, Nicholas Britt, Douglas Britt, Kathryn Munn, Olivia Renee Britt; seven great grandchildren, Brandon Becoat, Kaleigh Becoat, Ashlyn Hall, Joshua Becoat, Clayton Hall, Easton Barnes, Everett Barnes, and one more great grandchild expected in January 2027 "Baby Munn"; four great-great grandchildren, Kasey Sabastian, Brantley Beacoat, Colter Purviance; a brother, Elvis Flowers of Granite City; and sister, Virginia Staples of Granite City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Linda Lea and Pat Crader.
Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at 11 am, Monday, August 31 at United Pentecostal Church in Wood River. Pastor Terry Munn will officiate.
Burial will follow in Upper Alton Cemetery.
