Joyce Marie Copley, age 93, longtime resident of Albion, Ill., passed away August 23, 2026 at Aviston Countryside Manor, Aviston, Ill., following a brief illness. Joyce was born April 17, 1933 in Comanche, Texas. She grew up in Oklahoma, and later moved with her parents to Olney, Ill., where she met her husband, Doyle.
Joyce loved her dogs, especially Sophie, Gypsy, and Ginny; and found joy in going to horse shows. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to the Rocky Mountains and the Teton Mountains, where she appreciated the beauty of the outdoors. Above all, Joyce loved her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (lovingly known as Mam-ma), aunt, and friend, who will be remembered for her loving, generous spirit and for always being present for her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Doyle; parents Woodrow and Edna, nee Cottrell, Jones; and great-grandson Lucas Edward Morrill. Survivors include her daughters Terrie (Mike) Morrill of O’Fallon, IL, and Sandy (Rick) Davis of Kuttawa, KY; beloved grandchildren and their families Sam (Kathy) Morrill & children Claire and Caleb of Monument, CO; Andy (Maria) Morrill and children Murphy, Mac, and Dylan of Columbia, IL; Jed (Kristina) Davis and their children Laney and Harper of Columbia, IL; and Tess (James) Hall and their children Eadie and J.D. of Kuttawa, KY.
