Carole Anne Kessler, 84, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away at 2:31 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at LaBella of Caseyville.
She was born March 20, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, New York, a daughter of the late Rev. Paul H. and Olga (Schultz) Box. She married the love of her life, Lloyd R. Kessler Sr., on September 23, 1960, in East St. Louis, Illinois. Together, they shared nearly 66 years of marriage, creating a lifetime of cherished memories.
Family and faith were at the center of Carole’s life. She was a faithful member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Mehlville, Missouri, where she treasured the fellowship of her church family. She was a talented artist who enjoyed crafts and crocheting and had a fondness for collecting trinkets and collectibles. Carole was also well known for her famous coleslaw, which was often requested by family and friends.
Throughout the years, Carole and Lloyd enjoyed many adventures together. They loved riding their motorcycle, camping, spending time in Branson, and traveling throughout the country, proudly visiting all 50 states. Above all, Carole cherished the time spent with those she loved. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and faith, her creativity, and the many special memories she shared with her family, church family, and dear friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Michele and Matthew Schellhardt of Granite City and Shannon Kessler of Caseyville; a son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Lori Kessler of New Port Richey, Florida; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Peyton Schellhardt, Kristin and Aaron Robbins, Lacie Kessler, and Silas Perez; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Daniel, Noah Mae, and Rio Jade; many nieces and nephews; other extended family; and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Gatlin Landess.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be held at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 901 Barracksview Road in Mehlville, Missouri, on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Bishop Steve Willeford and Pastor Brad DeLong will officiate.
Burial will follow at Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart, Missouri.
